Occupation  Weaver and blacksmith
Military  Private in 107th Ohio Volunteer Infantry, Company I, which mustered in Cleveland September 9, 1862, for the U. S. Civil War; fought and was captured July 1, 1863, at Gettysburg, Pennsylvania; Held prisoner of war at Libby Prison in Richmond, Virginia, for 15 months (1963-1864); Exchanged out October 6, 1864, so sick he could not walk on his own; Mustered out at Charleston, South Carolina, July 10, 1865
Died  New Philadelphia, Ohio (Tuscarawas County) while traveling on Society of Separatist of Zoar business (resident of Zoar at the time)
Buried  Zoar Cemetery, Zoar, Ohio (Tuscarawas County); Tombstone, which is gone, had name spelled "Reiker" and birth date of 1844; As of 2010, a newer Civil War veteran marker is on his grave with an eroded one restored nearby

After Christian died, Christina and her children moved to Bolivar, Ohio (Tuscarawas County).  In 1900 she moved to Akron, Ohio (Summit County).
